Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (65-71) scored fewer runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (77-58) last night, 2-0, in the third of four games at Petco Park.

Tyson Ross (10-10, 3.21) gave up just one run in six innings on five hit and two walks with three strikeouts. Andre Ethier doubled to lead off the fourth inning and was knocked in by Carl Crawford ground-rule double into the Petco Porch in right field. Against Joaquin Benoit in the eighth inning, Ethier walked to lead off, Crawford singled, Yasmani Grandal bunted a ball into the air that was caught by Austin Hedges, then Joc Pederson singled to left field, scoring Ethier.

Alex Wood (10-9, 3.51) shutout the Padres over his seven innings on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts.  Chris Hatcher and Kenley Jansen each pitched a no-hit, shutout inning of relief.

The final game of the four-game series is this afternoon at 1:10pm PDT. Andrew Cashner (5-13, 4.15) takes the hill against Brett Anderson (8-8, 3.43).
