Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (35-46) scored more runs than the New York Yankees (39-41), 2-1, on a walkoff home run by Melvin Upton Jr. last night at Petco Park.

Drew Pomeranz (7-7, 2.65) pitched seven innings, giving up one run on five hits and no walks with seven strikeouts. Jacoby Ellsbury led off the sixth inning with a double. Brett Gardner then bunted for a single and Ellsbury moved to third base. Starlin Castro ground out to Ryan Schimpf, but Ellsbury scored.

Ivan Nova (5-5, 5.06) surrendered one run on four hits and a walk in five and a third innings while striking out seven. Wil Myers walked, stole second base, and later scored on a Matt Kemp double in the sixth inning. Leading off the ninth inning, Upton Jr., hit the first pitch he saw from Andrew Miller into the left field seats for the walkoff win.

The series finale is this afternoon at 1:40pm PDT at Petco Park. Andrew Cashner (3-5, 4.75) gets the start against Chad Green (0-1, 7.20).
