Hello? Is this thing on?
The podcast returns for it’s 9th episode……and it’s kind of a downer. Sorry.
If you have any questions or comments, go ahead and leave them down below or e-mail us.
In case you haven’t heard, it was announced today that Andy Masur was let go from his play-by-play duties by the Padres. The team decided to not renew his contract. The news shocked Padres fans.
I reached out to Wayne Partello, the Padres’ new Chief Marketing Officer, for a quick interview via email about why this change was made and what was the plan for the immediate future.
As I woke up this morning, I scanned Twitter and spotted this tweet.
Padres-Disappointed to hear Andy Masur not being brought back-Hiring Jesse Agler-to do TV-Radio-Internet-friend-Mike Dee from Mia Dolphins

I feel that it’s safe to say that Hacksaw may stretch the truth a bit on Twitter from time to time.
However, in this case, I can confirm that the news is indeed sadly true.
You may have noticed that Padres and Pints now has it’s own section located on the right (A big thank you to Melvin for setting that up for us!).
There’s a reason for this, as we currently have quite a few things in the works. Now that all of the past videos have been completed and posted, we are ready to book more new guests. And, as a matter of fact, we have indeed done just that….twice in the next two weeks.
To hold you over for the time being and to hopefully lighten the mood in Padre-land, we decided to cut a quick promo. Because “Hey! It’s baseball!”
Despite what you may think if you follow me on Twitter (or have read this prior post), I don’t hate Dick Enberg. The man is a broadcasting legend. It’s just that I believe play-by-play is no longer his strength.
If they do decide to take Enberg off of play-by-play duties next season (or sooner), who would/should replace him?
Last week I posted the Andy Masur and Ace from Knockaround Padres and Pints, but noticeably absent from it was the Rapid Fire with Andy. This was actually by design, as there was a TON of content to fit into that video that I thought it would be good to post the Rapid Fire separately in this case.
Watch as Andy gets grilled by the Avenger-in-Chief regarding all things Chicago and gives some praise to the greatest bronze in San Diego. LET’S RAPID FIRE!!
I had the amazing opportunity to host the latest Padres and Pints at the Knockaround Padres Pep Rally at Mission Brewery a few weeks back. In it we chat with Ace from Knockaround, Padres radio voice Andy Masur, Megan Olivi saves the day and rescues Beau’s intro like a true pro, we talk beer with Adam from Mission Brewery, plus we stump the likes of Ducksnorts and Ben Higgins in a round of Padres trivia!
A BIG thank you goes out to Ace, Andy, Megan, Ben, Adam from Mission, Jordan, Tony, Garvin and every single person that took the time to chat with me that night. It was a complete blast!
