When I emailed Ron Fowler asking if I could see the research he cited in not bringing back the brown, he said, "No, you may not." #Padres.

Referring to research that may or may not exist or have been properly administered, Ron Fowler threw a wet blanket over one of the rare topics that incites passion around a team currently 9.5 games out of first place: a return to brown uniforms.
Credit to the team for committing to the throwback weekend and changing the website to brown, along with many other outlets. However Fowler’s deference to “research” but refusal to explain what that means rubs me the wrong way. So I’m pushing back for brown.
Using the Stylish extension for Chrome or Firefox, you can permanently keep the brown color scheme at Padres.com forever. Here’s how you do it:
- Install / Enable the Stylish extension for Chrome or Firefox
- Get the Brown Padres.com theme here, install it with the big green button
- Boom! The Padres’ website now reflects a unique, San Diego look that doesn’t blend in with everyone else
The website will otherwise work normally. Something might break if the website changes before I have a chance to update the theme though. If something looks wonky, please let me know in the comments or hit me up on Twitter.
