Haikuarrhea: Week 16 in Padres Baseball

In an effort to stay close to our roots, the staff at Padres Public, will offer-up a haiku each Monday to describe the previous week in Padres Baseball. Restricting our feelings to 3 lines and 17 syllables to describe a week of play is a massive undertaking, but (un) fortunately, we are more than up to the task.

The All Star Break ended and things still kind of look the same. Although Chase Headley is seeing time batting 2nd in the order and Jason Marquis appears to have a serious elbow issue.

Let’s haiku . . .

Vocal Minority (David)

I’m done with this place

So tired of losing here

It’s hotter than shit

RJ’s Fro (Rick)

They only lost 2!

Oh, but they only played 3.

Please turn things around.

Ghost of Ray Kroc

All-Star break is done.

Lose 2 of 3 to the Cards.

On to Milwakuee.

Padres Trail

Charger camp opens

So local media cares

Not about baseball

Padres Trail – Part Deux

Three and seventeen

Now Padres become sellers

Why should we still watch?

Vocal Minority (Nate)

if you see Marquis

say goodbye to him for me

the spell is broken

Avenging Jack Murphy

I feel quite refreshed

Such a well timed All Star game

Let’s do it again

  • VM David

    Nate is heartless. HEARTLESS!

  • The All Star time off

    Did it not rejuvenate?

    To hell with last week!
