Today was a big day in Padres-land. Not only is it the proverbial start of the second half of the season (against the Rockies at 7:10pm PDT), but this morning the Padres and MLB held a big press conference to reveal the 2016 All-Star Game logo.
After twenty minutes of people like Mayor Kevin Faulconer and MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred giving speeches, it was finally time to reveal the new logo:

Meh. It looks okay. Not all the different from other All-Star host cities’ logos from the last few years.
Could they have made it a little more San Diego/Petco Park specific? Heck yeah. The Western Metal Building immediately comes to mind. Those little glimpse of palm trees underneath the arch that’s supposed to be a combination of Petco Park and the Gaslamp Quarter sign doesn’t scream San Diego to me. Even the SD logo at the top is kind of meh.
David has a little more analysis of both the logo and the colors that may or may not be a change for next year in this piece from earlier. The whole point of this piece is to get your opinions.
It’s been a while since we did a poll on this site. So, what better than something that just about everyone else is doing a poll for?
@Padres I like it. It's understated.

It’s a logo
Color changes don't matter. The Padres don't matter. Baseball doesn't matter. 100 yrs from now, nobody will know our names.
