Earlier during the year I found myself engrossed in episodes of Homeland and Breaking Bad, programs that had become standards in the AJM household. At roughly the same time I began following a clever Padres fan on twitter who kept me on my toes by alternating his avatars between the dual awesomeness of Saul Berenson and Walter White. With impeccable taste in modern television and the necessary humor required for survival as a Padres fan, I knew he and I would hit it off just smashingly. The human known to the twitterverse as @haha1721 has now joined Padres Public. And he’s here to tell you about himself . . .
Hello there. My name’s Oscar. What’s yours? Don’t answer that, I can’t hear you. I’m writing this because the poor saps at Padres Public think I know what I’m talking about when it comes to the San Diego Padres. Actually, it’s one poor sap, Mike from Avenging Jack Murphy, who read my little blog and asked if I wanted to be a part of Padres Public so we could “create fucking havoc”. I was very flattered because 1) holy shit someone actually read and LIKED what I wrote, and 2) I’m a huge fan of Padres Public. After some intense contract negotiations (blood was drawn; I won’t say whose), I agreed to join Padres Public and write under AJM.
I started blogging very recently, during the Padres 2013 season. Kyle Blanks had recently been demoted and I just couldn’t help myself. Whenever I had an opinion that was too long for Twitter I would just blog about it; my opinion matters, dammit. It’s through Twitter that I have been able to interact and discuss the Padres (and all sports) with so many like-minded people. It’s fun, but there are a ton of assholes who think they know everything and – oh crap, that’s me. Never mind.
Some quick background: I’m 22, born and raised in San Diego and I am totally not catfishing the fuck out of you guys love movies. I am a student at Long Beach State (it’s just like UCLA, only sadder). If you follow me on Twitter then you know I’m way fucking smarter than you have a pretty good idea of who I am. If you don’t follow on Twitter then whose fault is that? (@haha1721)
So, that’s me. I’m excited about this opportunity. Hopefully I can keep up with these guys. And remember, if this goes horribly wrong (I said IF), blame AJM.
I contribute when I contribute. Other thoughts on things that I think about can be found here. That’s a terrible “outro”. I’ll try to work on it.
