Padres Media Guides

Media Guides are something that I’ve never specifically set out to collect. In fact, with the exception of just Padres stuff in general, there hasn’t been any one particular thing that I’ve intended to collect. However, after years of buying bundles of items and what not, I have assembled a pretty solid Media Guide collection.

They are actually pretty fun to skim through. Minor League data was tough to find back in the early days and it’s all in there. Team award winners? All there. Where every team is staying when they travel? Also in there.

The only ones I’m missing, to the best of my knowledge, is the 1969, 1996 Post Season, 1998, 2002, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 & 2014. If anyone has any of these that they would like to donate to the cause it would greatly be appreciated.

So take a gander and enjoy!

*Edit – I have acquired the 1969, 1998, 2002, 2009, 2012, 2013 & 2014 media guides.

Described as an episode of Hoarders but with Padres stuff instead of dead cats, .400 in ’94 can be found posting on Padres Public every Wednesday once in a blue moon and also can be found on Twitter & Facebook.

You are encouraged to comment using an exisitng Twitter, Facebook, or Google account. Upvote comments you find helpful, and only downvote comments that do not belong. The downvote is not a 'disagree' button.

One thing about media guides, the information on players is not always correct. Steve Garvey is about 5’7″ but is sensitive about it, and had his height listed at 5’10” both in San Diego and L.A. That media guide fib cost a friend of mine a bet. Then there’s Tony Gwynn, bless him, who spent the last ten years or so of his career with his weight listed at 199 lbs.
